The name astrophyllite comes from the Greek, a combination of two words: astron, which means "star" and phyllon, which means "leaf". Astrophyllite is found in shades of golden yellow, bronze or even copper. Truly unique pieces sometimes have a flash of blue. Astrophyllite is an incredibly beautiful stone in its raw state, because its needles reflect light and astrophyllite literally shimmers with flashes of copper or bronze. Astrophyllite – a mineral with a star pattern
Astrophyllite is a rare silicate of iron, potassium and titanium with the chemical formula K₂NaFe²⁺₇Ti₂Si₈O₂₆(OH)₄F. It is characterized by its metallic shiny golden-brown to copper rays, which create unique star-shaped patterns. Thanks to this, it is one of the minerals with an unmistakable appearance.
