Colombianite - although some sources say it is a tektite, it is not. According to various studies, Colombianite is very old and exceptionally well-preserved obsidian, i.e. a type of volcanic glass. Its age is estimated at 30 million years. At first glance, it is black, but when the light shines through, we can see that it is colored gray-brown to gray-purple. It was named after the country where it was found - Colombia. It can be confused with the tektite Agni Manitite, for example, but colombianite has a smoother and shinier surface and is also more dense.
Colombianite is a sacred stone of the Muisca Indians. The natives call it "Piedra Rayo", which we can translate as "Lightning Stone".
