Roselite is a rare mineral that was first described in 1825 and named after the German mineralogist Gustav Rose. It occurs in a cobalttonos hydrothermal environment and was bound to the veins of quartz and chalcedone. Mineral crystallizes in the monoclinic crystal system and usually develops short prismatic crystals with a length of several millimeters to a little over a centimeter, but is also in the form of spherolithic or granulated units or stored in geodes and crushes. The color of transparent to translucent crystals varies between light and dark pink to pink red depending on cobalt content and the higher the content of cobalt, the darker.
