Baryte

Baryte is a rhombic mineral. The name comes from the Greek word barys – heavy. It can be easily distinguished from similar minerals by its density. Baryte is much harder. The mineral crystallizes at medium and low temperatures, which often prevail in hydrothermal vein deposits. Most often, these are separate hydrothermal fluorite-barite veins or hydrothermal ore veins with barite. The genesis of barite can also be associated with sedimentary environments or volcanic cavities, it is also common in a number of metasomatic and stratiform deposits.
