Late magmatic and postmagmatic mineral of acidic magmatites with increased content of Al and F. It occurs as a rock-forming mineral in autometamorphic tin-bearing granites and quartz veins in their vicinity, in granite pegmatites, less often elsewhere. Resistant to weathering, boulders can be found in alluvium. They form perfectly limited crystals and their drusen. The crystals are very rich in shapes and tend to be more or less columnar, vertically grooved. Hardness 8 Mohs scale. Topaz can be found in a wide range of colors - colorless, light to darker brown, light pink, light blue, champagne, golden (Imperial topaz). Due to its hardness, it is quite popular in jewelry.
