Tourmalines are a group of archer minerals - cyclic silicates. Elbaites (colored tourmalines) - are the widest and most famous group, and it consists mainly of jewelry stones. These include: rubellite, indigolite, verdelite, paraíba, achroite, melon tourmaline, olenite, rossmanite. Tourmalines are most often found in igneous rocks. It occurs over a wide range of pressures and temperatures, both in the Earth's upper mantle (70-80 km) and at a depth of only a few kilometers.
