Description
Citrine is a yellow, golden yellow to yellow-green variant of quartz. The color also corresponds to the name derived from the word 'lemon'.
The origin of the staining has still not been satisfactorily resolved. In some citrines, the color is caused by a small amount of Al in the structure - similar to smoky, but the mechanism of coloration is different.
