Nephrite is a gem, a variety of amphibol, along with jadeite called jade. (Jadeit is pyroxene.) The color of gemstone nectrite is rich in spinach green, the mineral has a hardness of about 6-6.5 degrees Mohs's scale, similar to quartz, but is more tenacious due to microcrystalline structure. After polishing it is very aesthetic with a perfect glassy finish.

It is mostly dark green in color, rarely white. Often knocked with jade.
