Crystal skulls do exist, and there are more of them than you might expect. The most famous ones are the size of a human head. The most famous is the skull found by the adventurer F.A. Mitchell-Hedges (we promise to write something about him soon, he is a very interesting person) in a Mayan city in Belize. It is the best executed and at the same time has the most engaging story. Hedges claimed it was about 3,600 years old and was said to have been used by Mayan high priests when they performed esoteric rituals. There are various legends surrounding crystal skulls regarding their paranormal properties or origins.
