Description

Charoite is a mysterious stone that was discovered by Russian geologists in the 1940s, but was not first described until 1978. Why was it there? Although Charoit is characterized by its lavender color with white, black and brown streaks and its rich color is indeed unusual because it is not transparent, it was initially underestimated and ignored by experts. Interest increased only around 1978, when J.G. Rogov. After a thorough investigation, it was found that Charoit is unique not only in color, which causes a high content of manganese, but also in other compositions. It contains a total of 40 rare trace elements and minerals, some of which were even unknown until then. Charoit is one of the rarest stones in the world. The only site in the world is Yakutsk, or officially - the Sasha Republic. There are several places in Yakutia where Charoit can be found: the Chara river area (after which the stone is named), the Togo river basin, the Aldan peak, the East Siberian region, the Danam and the Murum massif, but so far it is only one area on a world where a stone of such qualities could be mined. The rarity is further enhanced by the fact that the state seeks to protect resources and allows a maximum of 100 tons of Charity to be extracted annually. The price is rising year by year due to the fact that no other deposit has been found so far and so resources are dwindling. Accessibility to Charoit is difficult.
